Description

Typhoon struck South China. Took this video in Shenzhen, just north of Hong Kong. Winds were strong enough to knock out some power and bring down trees but they were not hurricane force winds.

jyeecbs:  Good question. There was a bit of wind, just not as much in Shenzhen and not when I took the video. The typhoon had gusts that reached 160km per hour when it struck south of where I was located.

There didn't seem to be a lot of news in the US. But it left 10 dead in China, and many more in the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam. Unfortunately, there were many casualties.

Here's one of the articles that covered the typhoon:

zace75:  that's cool video. But if there is no wind then isn't just rain storm?

ooptimist:  Why couldn't I find this story anywhere else. Thanks for bringing this to the attention of CBS.
